Our life, for the gospel.

When we got married, we didn’t imagine this life. God’s invitation met us in the middle of our plans—and learning to say yes took time, honest conversations, and steps of faith.

Today, we’re learning what it means to give Him our future, together. As we serve in Kona and share the gospel, we invite you to become part of this story through prayer and partnership.

We didn’t arrive at yes together.

Gabriel felt certain God was calling us to Kona. Rebecca couldn’t imagine leaving Brazil.

We loved each other. We wanted to follow Jesus. And we were struggling to understand what that meant for our life.

There were conversations. Tears. And a dream we put down.

A financial crisis interrupted our plans, and going began to feel impossible.

Months later, a friend told us about a missions school.

As she spoke, God set both our hearts on fire for the same calling.

This time, we began dreaming together.

Kona, Hawaiʻi

Our yes was only the beginning.

We began longing for that life, too.

In our first week in Kona, our teachers shared stories of following God—praying, trusting Him for provision, and seeing Him move in ways we had never experienced.

As we listened, Jesus stirred a deep desire in both our hearts. We wanted to live that life with Him ourselves.

Before we left for Fiji, another invitation came.

We were invited to stay and serve at the YWAM base in Kona. Accepting meant committing at least two more years of our lives—and once again placing our plans in God’s hands.

As Gabriel prayed, he brought his uncertainty to the Lord: What if I’m mistaken? What if this isn’t Your will?

He sensed God answer:

“Gabriel, this time you’ll have to trust My character.”

We accepted the invitation to stay.

Then we went to Fiji.

Across the islands and villages of Fiji, we shared the gospel, prayed with people, and spent time caring for children. Gabriel also had the opportunity to preach and minister in a prison.

The people we met became part of our story.

One encounter we still carry with us.

We met a woman in Fiji who used a wheelchair. When we asked if we could pray for her, she said yes.

After our first prayer, nothing changed. We stayed and kept talking. Then Gabriel felt prompted to ask if we could pray again.

This time, she stood—but told us she was still in pain.

With her permission, we prayed once more. She began to walk, with difficulty, and told us the pain was gone. We watched her leave her wheelchair behind and walk away.

There were tears and so much joy. We give Jesus the glory for her healing.

We’re back in Kona. Our yes continues.

Before we left for Fiji, we said yes to staying. Now we’re back, preparing to serve alongside Brett, the base leader, and begin this next chapter together.
